Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chequers Hotel

Historic coaching inn, still offering "guest house" accommodation. Part tile-hung facade in the local Wealden style, with a fine portico above the original main entrance (remains open, but another doorway to the right is now generally used). Two bars, both fully refurbished with part-modern, part-traditional furniture and decor. Extensive riverside beer garden. A ban of three handpumps in each bar, with Shepherd Neame's Canterbury Jack, Kent's Best and Whitstable Bay (£3.70) available. Overall, worth a stop if in the area.
