A basic but smart trad pub with a comfortable and relaxing feel about it. Just a couple of handpumps serving Doom Bar and Harveys Sussex Best, the latter well kept. Nothing to write home about but worth a pint.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Prince Of Wales
Fairly basic pub with one smallish 'L'-shaped bar. Nice decorated fireplace (disused) at one end. It does a good lunchtime trade as it is adjacent to the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre and has a reasonably-priced menu, and this means that many of the tables are sometimes reserved with 'Food Only' notices. Patio beer garden to rear, connected to the Ely Court shops. Two handpumps, offering the regular Tribute (£3.40) in addition to the ubiquitous Harveys.

The Prince of Wales is a small one roomed pub that was busy with locals during my early Monday afternoon visit a couple of weeks ago. The bar was stocked with standard draught products and the two hand pumps were drawing Harveys Best and Tribute. Pub grub is available from around the £7 mark and the couple that were eating seemed content enough. I don’t recall a TV being on, but there was some low background music playing. There is some outside seating at the rear that faces the shopping centre so this pub is ideal for a quick stop off if being dragged around the shops.
I found the locals and woman behind the bar to be friendly and down to earth so I see no reason why I wouldn’t pop back in here again if passing.
