Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal Oak
Compact pub with a tidy 'L'-shaped main bar featuring a dartboard but little in the way of decoration. Single-storey side extension housing the pool table and a smaller bar counter. The two handpumps feature the regular Doom Bar and Harvey's (£3.40, and in good form as previously). NB - There is now a huge area of northern Tonbridge without a pub, so this will be the nearest place for a pint for many people, but one suspects it's only the immediate locals who make use of the place.

Strongers . left this review about The Royal Oak
The Royal Oak is a basic boozer with a left hand bar that houses seating, a plasma screen, a pool table and a jukebox that was playing some loud music throughout the pub. A larger right hand bar houses more seating, two dartboards and another plasma screen that was showing a muted quiz programme of some sort.
Both of the bars were lined by a boisterous crowd that had not long left the building site, but I was quickly served by the lone barmaid. Standard draught was available alongside cask Harvey’s Best and Sharp’s Doom Bar. Children are permitted until 20:00, but I’m not sure that I would take my kids here on a Friday afternoon.
To the left of the pub and to the rear is a car park and at the far rear is a small grass covered area with a picnic table. This pub does not open until 13:00 during the week and 12:30 at the weekend. I saw nothing here that would have me rushing back.

Awful place. Shame, it used to be good.
