The pub looks run down from outward appearances, and to be honest it's pretty rough inside too. Some of the signage still says Salopian Brewery, but it's apparently a few years since their involvement ended. There were two real ales on the bar at the time of my visit, both local-ish, but unfortunately one was a milk stout, which I make a point of swerving because of the sweet taste, and the other, a blonde session-strength beer from Plan B brewery of Newport in Shropshire, had some off flavours. This may have been due to the lines not being cleaned or the beer not being pulled through at the start of the day. A disappointing experience.
