Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Olde Kings Head

Obviously an old pub, but seemly always in the shade of the nearby Gurnett Aqueduct and surrounding woodland so perhaps not looking as it might do in another setting? Anyway, the slightly split-level L-shaped interior - although modernised - retains some character. Beer-wise, I found Bass, Landlord and Waller from the local Wincle Brewery (£3.90).

This establishment has been open under new management since August 2008. We first visited in September of that year and returned in March after work on the Macclesfield canal allowed us back on our boat. The welcome was as good as anyone will get anywhere, and the Steak and Ale pies will satisfy the most critical. Well worth a visit wherever you are in the country. If you are on a boat you must stop at the Gurnett aqueduct
