This is included in the 2nd Edition of CARMAs London Pub Walks. Despite the landlord looking like a veteran of many years, much has changed since the write up 11 years ago.
Bob Steel was enthusing about the cask from Cronx brewery, alongside the more pedestrian Courage Best and Doom Bar.
Today, its totally caskless.
Painted in Crystal Palace colours and on my visit, the only other punters were a group of chaps discussing other London Teams players. Not only were they not very good, they could all only be seen next Tuesday.
There's more that could be said, but probably best to leave it there.
A fine example of an earthy, much disappearing back street local.

A very basic street corner boozer, now painted outside in Crystal Palace FC red & blue with a small FA Cup winners mural. The interior is much less grand,a simple L shaped interior with a darts board to the left,a longer side to the right punctuated by the gents, cheap ageing pine furniture and no sign of real ale.The flatscreen in the apex will show Sky Sports and there is a boisterous atmosphere .The barmaid was friendly but even the John Smith Smooth was off, leaving multinational lagers and Guiness which I plumped for.
On the walls there is a bit of Palace memorabilia ,some dating back to the 60's but it's not overdone and there is even room for a collage dedicated to Phil Foden ??
Earthy ,no real ale means this was a one off visit.

Very much a locals pub nowadays with a more sedately painted exterior of plain white, very little mention of Crystal Palace at all inside apart from a small framed colured drawing of the pub in its former colours hanging on a wall. No real ale but the place was buzzing with custom. A pint of Guinness surficed for a short stay. I'm not likely to return but it was ok for a one off.
