One of a number of pubs in the village of Rossett, the Golden Lion is quite a large pub found on the main B Road through the village. The pub can also be found in the latest Good Beer Guide and it was certainly a much more popular venue than the previous 3 pubs we had visited in Wrexham County.
The interior is both fairly modern and cosy. Families and dogs are welcome. A total of 4 real ales were on. That was double the number we had found in the first 3 pubs combined. Theakston Best Bitter appears to be a regular beer. Also on were Hyde's Hopster, Peerless Skyline & Purple Moose Elderflower Ale. A fifth handpull was clipped with Weston's Old Rosie, but that was "settling in the cellar". I'm not convinced that real cider takes much settling, but who am I to judge. I only drink the stuff.
