I'm dismayed with what I've seen Marston's doing to the old Burtonwood estate in North Wales and this one is no exception. The original Burtonwood signage is still in place. I recall coming here well over 30 years ago and finding it odd that everyone appeared to be drinking Guinness. It wasn't Guinness at all but Burtonwood Mild and of course that has all changed.
Inside it's a narrow L shaped carpeted room with the bar in front and a Pool area up some steps to the right. There are some benches along the wall and some low tables with stools. A TV screen was showing football that nobody seemed to be watching.
The bar has just two hand pumps which on my visit had one unused and Ringwood Best, hardly an exciting prospect. The Ringwood Best (£2.90) was in good nick despite going off soon after ordering my pint. I can't say I was impressed with this place.

Good pub. serves some real ales. It has what amounts to 2 areas to drink in (3 if you count the beer garden at the rear). The main area at the front consists of a comfortable lounge and to the rear is a pool table. Its always been a friendly place whenever I've been in.

Best pub to go to in ruthin, its the friendliest place there and you will be taken in with a warm welcome want to know more see for yourself
