The layout is as described below, and there are now tables and benches at the front. The barman was less troublesome than described, but then it wasn’t very busy so we didn’t feel too bad about interrupting his smoke break. There was an industrial grade coffee machine on the bar, and the menu was modern cosmopolitan bar food; pizzas, burgers, ribs and so on. The real ale choices were Bristol Beer Factory’s Chimay Shelter and Fortitude, both in fair condition. Real ciders were Stan’s Big Apple and Cheddar Valley, plus Brislington Brain Twister. The craft section had Easy Living and Neck Oil, and the keg selection was Moretti, Cruzcampo, Amstel, Guinness and two from Thatchers. Not a bad pub, I’d include in a crawl, but it’s not somewhere I’d seek out on its own merits given the local competition.

A good sized, street corner pub, this was renovated and changed it’s name a few years back and has now established itself as a well-respected community local compared to the rather run down appearance and chequered history that it had previously. The barman was very friendly, and whilst he was busy making coffee’s for another group, rather than ignoring me as is often the case, he stopped what he was doing, took my order and said he’d bring them to our table as soon as he could.
Internally it consists of three rooms, two of which share a bar counter. The central room has something of a country house hotel feel to it perhaps, being quite elegant with a mixture of dark blue and light blue paintwork on the walls and dark parquet wood flooring. A row of exposed filament light bulbs hung above the wood panelled bar counter, whilst there was a fireplace off to the right and a number of books scattered around. All in all it felt the sort of cosy pub that you could quite happily settle in to for the afternoon. A further room off to the right was a good size and this led on to a small courtyard.
Beers on tap were 61 Deep and Bath Ale’s Gem whilst a third pump appeared unused. Ciders meanwhile were well represented with Thatcher’s Gold, Thatcher’s Haze and Cheddar Valley.

Awesome pub! Had the most amazing sausages, and I know a good sausage! Some of the best food I had during my trip to Bristol. Really cool atmosphere and some great cider. Stayed until last orders. First stop when I'm back in Brizzol!
