The former Duddingston Arms has been renamed The Newton Arms. It had been closed for about 18 months for refurbishment. It has now re-opened for the about the past 5 months under new management. The bar section on the right half still has a traditional pub feel with like the rest of the building interior the sandstone brick work still showing. There is Tennents beers on tap and a small choice of whisky. The left half and an extension section to the rear has been set up as a restaurant area. The menu seems quite short of choice at this time but they have a resident chef so hopefully the will improve. Still all in all still has that local country pub feel. There is parking available at the left of the pub to the rear.
