This oddly named pub is one of the most popular in town, especially with younger people, many of whom are probably warming up for a visit to the night club just across the road. With karaoke sessions on weekend nights, it gets extremely busy then and can be boisterous to the point of rowdy. It has a good atmosphere, however, and seems to have a dedicated crowd of "regulars." Despite a slightly run down appearance, it's not one of the cheaper pubs in Galashiels, with a pint of Carling lager costing me £3.25. Guinness, John Smith's, Strongbow cider and Carlsberg and Budweiser lagers are also on draught.

You never know what you'll get in the gluepot. Friday night karaoke is particularly...interesting. Patrons range from fit university girls to dessicated spinsters. The gluepot has a bit of a rough reputation, but it's not so bad. Besides, it's right next to the best club in gala!
