Under new owners since my last visit and there have been changes. The physical layout is largely unchanged but the public bar to the right although still with a counter is more used for dining than stand up drinking. The hand pull count is reduced to one serving a Plockton beer from the brewery across the road. Mine was in very average condition, even a second wasn’t much better. There’s a T-Bar of keg stuff. The decor has been changed to a less nautical theme. The left hand rooms are still pretty much dining only as before and the toilets have become unisex.

The Plockton Inn was my favourite pub of the day in the Highlands. I could only see one real ale and it helped that this was the best kept of all of the Scottish beers I tried throughout the day. This particular beer was the locally brewed Plockton Yarrowale.
There is a public bar and a separate dining room. For our late Saturday afternoon visit, the only customers were drinkers in the public bar which made this place feel much more like a pub than other local drinking/dining establishments. Accommodation is also available, in a building across the street.
With friendly staff, I quite enjoyed our visit here.

Some of the signage now says Plockton Inn & Seafood Restaurant, but otherwise the place seems little changed since my last review. The southern beer was now Timothy Taylor Landlord, so I went for the local Plockton Serendipity. I'd got here a little before the evening rush for food - every table was reserved - so it was quite pleasant, but there's no escaping the fact that this is a hotel and restaurant first, and a bar third.
