Old Boots left this review about Dornie Hotel

In the small village across the road from the famous and picturesque Eilean Donan castle this is an hotel bar occupying one end of the long white building. It actually comprises three areas, one of which can be partitioned off. From the front bar entrance you enter the main bar, with a sideways counter to the right, there is a single unused hand pump at the far end but otherwise a fairly standard Scottish line up of kegs from Greene King (Belhaven) plus West lager, Guinness and a cider. Basically a drinking corridor with a darts board, to its right and down a step or two is a table and chair sitting area with a wee room off to the side containing a pool table, machine and juke box. Further along the building is more seating / dining in the part that can be partitioned. Outside is a patio with wooden picnic benches. Rather plain decor but a friendly place.

The bar is to the left of the main hotel building, with its own entrance. The bar room is small and fairly basic, with an adjoining dining room down a couple of steps and a pool table to the rear off that. Just the one real ale, and the lass serving had difficulty getting it to settle, pouring one glass of froth after another until after nearly five minutes a half pint of liquid was obtained. It was Skye Red Cuillin according to the pump clip, but this is now called Isle of Skye Red, as far as I know. It's a beer I've tried from time to time over many years and never had a decent one yet. (Strathcarron Red Cow is a vastly superior beer, which I would suggest they try here in future.)
