David Ross left this review about The Tavern
Better inside than it looks from the street, this consists of a separate bar and lounge, although the latter wasn't open on the Friday evening I visited. The bar is large, with a long semi-circular counter, padded seating around the walls and lots of standing room in the middle. There are at least half a dozen TV screens and loud music was playing despite the fact that the majority of customers appeared to be part of a funeral party. A pint of Carling lager cost me £3 and John Smith's, McEwan's Export, Guinness, Guinness Golden Ale, Tennent's lager and Magner's cider are also on draught.
