A Billy Bonus Boozer pencilled-in at haste after our earlier-than-expected departure from the dire Twa. I had gurgled at the magnificent stained glass windaes on the way past earlier, so thought it was worth a punt. Inside is a nice interior recently refurbished with an impressive island bar and super jumbo pub mirror. No cask so a Belhaven Best it was from the friendly matronly landlady. Glad I came – whilst not exactly a casketeer's destination it was a well-run and honest pub. I hope it does well.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal Bar
Although the real ale has disappeared again, this is still quite an interesting corner pub. You can see from the street that it has decorative glazing in both facades (although it turns out that the same pattern is repeated five times). However, the interior is dominated by a feature island servery with all the spirits displayed on the inner face of the gantry. As noted, only keg beers available, so went for the Belhaven Best (£3.40).

This old high ceilinged has bar stools all around a central island style bar. The place looks as if it has never changed since the day it was built. No modern trendies here and no loud music. A good place to relax and enjoy ones drink.
