A central hotel with a public bar having its own entrance on the right hand side. The bar counter on the left has high chairs lining its length, which makes the room seem narrow with a wider part at the rear where a couple of groups of drinkers were enjoying themselves. The walls have wood panelling painted greyish green (or was it greenish grey?), but the bar counter is in dark wood, with hooks and a couple of hand pumps, but there was no real ale on, it having run off over the weekend and not been replaced. I had a half of McEwans 70/-, which is a poor beer: pale, tasteless, cold and gassy.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Crown Hotel
Small, fairly basic, bar at the front with a few items of rustic furniture and plenty of locals standing at (and more-or-less blocking) the counter. Another small room for diners at the front, and a larger restaurant area further back. Just one real ale on - Deuchars IPA - but that was OK.
