The Cherry Tree has recently re-opened on 31st July 2013 under new owners, both of whom are local people who live very close to the pub and were regulars in there prior to it shutting. The usual choice of drink is available, just perfect for West of Scotland drinkers. The new Chef has proved very popular and most of the write-ups on Tripadvisor are positive. There is entertainment on Monday, Friday & Saturday nights. A poster on the wall shows forth-coming attractions to the pub. There is parking available round the back and at the right side of the pub.

The Cherry Tree is still thriving two years after its re-opening. It now advertises a "family friendly atmosphere" and "good pub food served daily," although neither were much in evidence on the Wednesday afternoon I called in. This is still principally a haunt of Netherton locals and not really worth the journey out from Motherwell or Wishaw town centres to visit.

With so many pubs closing these days, it’s good to see one which was shut for a while re-opening. The Cherry Tree has been considerably refurbished and modernised, with a section of the building converted into an all too convenient bookmaker’s. It now consists of one large bar/lounge, with comfortable seating, flat screen TV and a pool table. Still principally a “scheme” pub, for the Netherton area of Wishaw, it also gets some business from the nearby Industrial Estate.
