Aqualung . left this review about The Vulcan (JD Wetherspoon)
According to What Pub this was an original pub but if it was originally built as one it has a most strange design. Inside it's a wide rectangular room with the bar at the rear. The fixtures and fittings are fairly typical.
The bar has two sets of three hand pumps which had a disappointing choice. There were two available soon, a festival cider from four weeks ago, Strathaven Duchess Anne, Orkney Dragonhead and Kelburn Rednitz. I went for the Duchess Anne which was in good nick but a rather pedestrian low ABV beer.
This one has been voted Lanarkshire pub of the year at least twice which makes you wonder how awful all the other Lanarkshire pubs must be.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Vulcan (JD Wetherspoon)
Smallish 'spoons housed in an ugly low-rise 60s block, but I found it surprisingly tidy and calm inside. Limited selection from six handpumps, but my pint of Mordue Belma Red was in good condition and you certainly couldn't argue about the price (£1.65).
