The Palace is a Best Western hotel which works mainly on its hotel business, although the restaurant is good and the bar is busy with casual drinkers, especially when there is a match on the large tv in the bar. One real ale is on, invariably Red Cuillin which is not that well kept and runs out frequently. Staff are friendly and welcoming, rooms are comfortabel and they have run functions for us in the past.
Worth staying in (my longest stay here was 4 weeks) and it's a good place to meet up, but the lack of emphasis on the beer (and high prices compared to the pubs) means it's not worth including on a crawl, and I wouldn't just drop in for a drink.
