When I checked out the Star & Garter yesterday it had reopened. It’s been a long time since I saw it in 2017 when it looked closed.

The place has a central bar. There is a fireplace on the right wall which seems out of place to the rest of the pub. On this same wall there was a doorway to a large lounge which held up to 260 people. But this was demolished some years ago to make way for modern housing. The outside of the pub although losing this lounge does not look out of proportion but looks out of place to the new tenement houses on the right. Nothing fancy about the choice of drinks but it's nice to have a drink in an old style pub.
