The place was burnt down a number of years ago and only the main structure is still standing. There was a large lounge / function room to the left of the main structure and this seems to have taken the brunt of the fire. There seems no sign of its former glory still to come. This was the haunt of the famous business man Arthur Thompson, who lived just up the road.

One of the best,safest and infamous pubs in the east end,i worked there from 1985 to 1987,all the customers were good and it was well managed too,don't believe everything you read in the press.
