Originally dating from the 19th century Macsorley’s advertises itself a music bar so it was not surprising to see live entertainment advertised every night of the week. During my visit on a recent Tuesday evening this was the busiest pub in the immediate area. The band was set up by the front window facing the horseshoe bar and mezzanine balcony that sits above. A premium keg range was available and I counted five hand pumps for cask ale. The traditional décor and friendly staff made for a pleasant visit so I would have no problem returning if in the area.

Quite an ornate old style interior with a horseshoe shaped bar and a mezzanine level. 2 real ales and food served. Live music advertised.
