Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lismore
From the outside, this tenement corner pub looks little different from the many others (still trading and closed) across the city. However, if you venture inside, you find a great collection of stained glass windows portraying historical trades and events (but arrived a bit later than others on our 'pub research trip' so no time to use the famous urinals). Admiral from Tempest (£2.50, half) and Otherworld's Adrift being served from the pair of handpumps.

I was taking my photos of this pub, with an old man enjoying his cigarette in shot. I asked if he minded being in my photo, and he said I should come inside and see the windows, which depict scenes from the Highland Clearances. Once inside, the same man - this time without the fag - suggested I should go and have a look at the urinals. These have descriptions of three men who were closely involved in the clearance of Lios Mòr, an island in the Inner Hebrides, with an invitation to direct displeasure towards them in an appropriate manner.
Other aspects of the pub are more conventional, with a pair of hand pumps dispensing beers from Tempest Brewery in the Borders and Otherworld of Dalkeith: both were in very good nick (NBSS 3.5). We came here on the Subway train, a worthwhile trip from the centre, especially with the Three Judges across the road making an easy double-header.

A real classic street corner boozer ,a Partick institution well used and well loved by the locals. The interior is good too, with a stone fireplace, stained glass and a very authentic feel.Furniture was traditional, and the interior leads to a raised rear section with it's own attractive small bar with a high back and some fishing vessel ephemera dotted about. It was lively on a Friday night with a good mix of age groups and several all female crews.
At the Bar there was Caledonian Deuchers and Inveralmond Ossian,a limited ale selection besides standard kegs and a decent whisky collection.
It's worth a visit for the authentic atmosphere alone, try and pop in if passing. If you want to learn about the Highland Clearances a visit to the gents is mandatory !
