Have since found out from oldglasgowpubs.co.uk website that when The Gate closed, it reopened under another name - Lynn's. It was still open in 2003. When it closed, it was set on fire a while later. So there was a fire at Lynn's, not The Gate. Lynn's was demolished after the fire.

The empty space next to the Blue Lagoon takeaway must have been where the Gate pub used to be.
