Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Doublet
Not sure I've ever even heard of of this place before, let alone visited it, so it came as a bit of a surprise when we called in on the way back to the city centre. Dark interior with a traditional look and feel (although it only dates from 1961 apparently). Three cask ales on handpump: Red McGreggor and Corncrake from Orkney, along with Jaguar from Kelburn. Good Beer Guide listed.

Great little street corner bar just down the hill from the youth hostel. Yes, still youthful even though I'm 70 now. There are three hand pumps (see photo) and it's in the current Good Beer Guide. My half of Kelburn Dark Moor was very good (NBSS 3.5). There's a lively atmosphere, but it's just people talking, despite the background music, which seems unnecessary to me. (The code for the WiFi is "just talk", which seemed like a bit of a reproof, but I signed in anyway.)

Street corner boozer with a traditional mock tudor exterior ,and some interesting features inside. It's an open plan single room with the bar to the right and lots of traditional furniture and banquettes at the rear.A bit dark but that adds to the boozer vive ,there was a friendly welcome from behind the bar. There is an upstairs lounge where the quiz and live music/comedy will be held.
The three handpumps were offering Broughton Glasgow Cross and Hopo together with Orkney Island Life (NBSS 4). Some interesting kegs from which I also chose Loch Lomond Parumpumplum,a plum porter which went down well too.
Worth including on any real ale tour of the West End ,it's in the 2023 GBG.
