Strongers . left this review about The Atholl Arms
The Atholl Arms is small L-shaped split level pub with a central serving counter that supports standard keg products. Some wood panelled columns break up the open plan interior and at the rear is a wood panelled alcove in which three tables sit. There was some background music and the service was polite, but I didn’t get why it was so busy with all the tables taken early on a Monday evening.

Situated across the road from Walkabout and the Pavilion theatre however strangely this pub feels just a bit out of the way - something the owners may think also as they have a sign stating "the best kept secret in Glasgow" The (traditional) bar itself can be accessed from 2 doors and on entering you are struck by the wood panelling throughout the bar with picture of mostly Scottish stars on the walls (mostly of the 80s) like the Krankies (possibly in homage to the Pavilion theatre) The bar is partly on a split level so you have to walk up (or down) a small set of stairs (only about 4 stairs) to get from one side of the bar to another - the upper level is set out for bar food with tables, the lower area mostly for sitting and having a pint - Food seems popular and looked ok and fairly priced ( fish and chips. pizzas etc ) the beer selection is pretty wide (no real ales sadly) with Tennents, Bellhaven, Carling, Smiths, Guinness, McEwans, Ciders etc all on tap - I had a really nice pint of McEwans for £3;40 (May 2014) not sure if that high or not as don't drink it that often) usual selection of spirits , wines etc - customers seems mixed from office workers to older couples out for a bite to eat and /or a drink. Two slight issues for me were the smell of fried food lingers and due to the narrow bar (from the bar staffs side) they seem to be in your face (the staff themselves are fine) Not a bad wee bar for a pint, a bit lacking in atmosphere (although I was in at 6:30pm so may buck up at night)
