Strongers . left this review about Alfredo's Bar
Now called Alfie’s Sports Bar, the entrance opens onto a long and thin laminate floored seating area where small tables and stools run up the right and three large booths the left. At the rear tiled steps climb to an inviting tile floored bar area with a large central curved U-shaped serving counter. Banquettes with tables run around the bar walls and televisions are located throughout for watching sport. These were all airing muted horse racing and Sky Sports News while some background music played for the Monday after work crowd in attendance. Standard keg was available alongside Birra Moretti and Madri from the polite bar staff. This place certainly wasn’t what I was expecting as I approached so I’d revisit if passing.

I noticed today that above the Alfredo’s sign it said Alfie’s Sports & Whisky Bar. I wonder if that means a change of name. We’ll see.

Nice busy traditional pub in Glasgow City Centre- cheap and cheerful is probably the best way to describe it. Clientèle is predominately local although there is a sizeable selection of one off visitors popping in for a pint (it is near to Buchanan Bus station). Has a good selection of the usual drinks; Tenants, Guinness, bottled beers, Smirnoff etc (no real ales) and prices are reasonable for the area and the type of bar it is . I usually pop in on a Saturday for a pint before I meet my mates and have always found the bar staff to be really friendly (others have different stories) and they and the locals will chat away to you. The pub also offer some pretty nice (basic) wholesome food ( I had some really nice soup with crispy bread) at reasonable prices .The pub tends to get really busy on Friday and Saturday nights after 8pm, when the Karaoke starts up and it can get a bit boisterous around then at times but to date I have never seen any problems (pother than the odd guy thats had way too much to drink). Seating is ample and there are quite a few flat screen TVs (and sports memorabilia) throughout the bar most showing sports (including a massive tv screen in the centre f the bar area) . Toilets are basic but clean. Well worth a visit
