The disco lights and loud music coming from Heritage as I approached on a recent Wednesday nearly put me off entering, but I’m addicted to pubs so in I went. I was surprised to find myself as the only customer while an aging DJ blasted out some tunes from the front right corner of the pub. I must admit that I felt a bit special having my own personal DJ for fifteen minutes, although it would have been better if he wasn’t playing a load of cheesy nonsense. The serving counter up the left-hand wall supports standard keg and Cruzcampo, so I went for half a lager, probably a Tennents, and sat on one of the open plan tables in the centre of the room. It all got a bit surreal in the end, I didn’t know whether to nod along to the music with the DJ or watch muted Corrie with the barmaid. It must get busier in there later in the evening or they wouldn’t bother with the effort of putting on this entertainment every Wednesday evening, but I didn’t see where these people were going to come from as the town was very quiet. The service was polite, but I’ll not be visiting here again.
