Strongers . left this review about The Old Cross Guns Inn
I walked past the Old Cross Guns twice thinking it was someone’s house on a recent midweek afternoon. The pub is lacking a pub sign, but on closer inspection I should have noticed the small Tennents and Caledonian signs on the front. The left-hand side of the pub was packed with an older crowd that seemed to consist mainly of women, so my thinking was that there was a social event in progress, which may or may not be a regular thing. The bar area is found in the right-hand side of the pub where some old gents sat on banquettes along the front wall were separated from a younger crowd playing pool and darts in the rear by the long curved U-shaped serving counter that comes out from the left-hand wall. I also noted a test your strength boxing machine in the rear, as well as lots of televisions that were airing live cricket via Sky Sports. The cricket was muted while some random background music played, I imagine there’s a jukebox. This was the last of the currently open pubs in town that I visited, and with only standard keg and Neck Oil available on draught I can sadly report that there is no cask in Cowdenbeath, so I would bother going to visit.

Across the road from Morrisons shopping. A dark interior, which did seem to put people off as the place was reasonable busy for a Thursday night. Belhaven Best on tap which went down well.
