Not promising on entering, hitting a weird nothingness area with an out-of-service carvery heater for company. Much better rooms off left and through though - simple traditional fayre with floor-to-ceiling light varnished wainscoting, red wainscot roof and some exposed stone. Two St Austell ales - Hicks and a great Tribute (NBSS 4), served-up by a friendly landlady. Fires on the go as well, leading to a nice cosy atmosphere. Worth a popping in. 7.5

Our base for a weeks holiday - the food and hospitality has been 2nd to none.
We started with a lovely Sunday Lunch and felt compelled to come back later in the week for a similar quality mid week meal.
The owners extended a warm welcome to us in these troubled times.
Two real ales - Tribute and Proper Job. The Proper Job was so good that I couldn't be tempted to change alligence.

Nice pub on the village square with something of an emphasis on food but still welcoming to drinkers. A nice comfortable, traditional feel to the main bar in the front and a larger restaurant area behind with many beams. St Austell beers in good order.
