It's more than 10 years since my previous review, but the pub seems largely unchanged. It's an interesting option away from the tourists in the centre. And the beer is kept well.

A very simple one roomed bar,with the servery at the back,traditional furniture with green leather backed benches and a flagstone floor,there are two upturned tuns to rest your pint if drinking vertically.The owner was friendly and had a great soundtrack playing at a sensible volume.It's wet led with on my visit Stewart Radical Road Reverse and Jack Black and Oakham Citra (NBSS 4).I noticed 6 craft keg options listed on the chalk board.The collection of pump clips shows a rotating ale policy and the 2023 GBG listing is fully justified.The kind of boozer where it feels rude to leave after just one pint,next time in could be a session for me.

One roomed tenement pub that is very popular. A (nice) battle to get to the bar for friendly service.
Good Beer guide 2019 entry. Oakham Citra spot on.
Would return if in the area.
