Strongers . left this review about Golf Tavern
Dating from 1456 the exterior of the Golf Tavern still holds some age, but the interior is now single room open plan. The bar along the left wall faces two large copper topped high tables down the centre and along the right wall are a couple of 12 seater booths. Standard seating is found at the rear under some small golfing related stain glassed windows. There are televisions for showing Sky Sports, which were muted. The bar counter supports four handpumps that were all unused so only standard and premium keg was available. Upstairs is the Clubhouse function room where there is another bar. The food menu revolves around burgers, hotdogs, wings and pizza, the standard burger is priced at £10.
Out the front are a few picnic tables that look onto Bruntsfield Links which is a 36 hole pitch and putt (more of a chip and putt to be honest). Clubs are available for hire from the bar. It’s OK in here, but it is really geared towards large groups so Imagine it gets a bit raucous at the weekends and when events are on. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here again, but would consider popping in if passing.
