Characterful split level interior serving 5 real ales from the 8 taps and a good "craft keg" selection.

The Golden Rule is a relaxed, friendly and uncomplicated local with 8 cask pumps (5 functioning)and a fair selection of whiskies.The pub is entered at an angle where the bar faces you with to the right of this down a small flight of steps is the small lounge with a bookcase and I think a jukebox.Called in around 2pm on a Wednesday where there was football on the TV and a Rolling Stones record playing in the background.Quite liked my short stay here which I found cosy and homely and would have stayed longer if I had not been on a tight schedule.
