Blue Scrumpy left this review about Seven Stars
The Seven Stars is home to the Hidden Brewery. The interior is light and airy and there are bare boards. Whilst I didn't explore the premises properly, choosing instead to sit in the window, there were at least 2 other rooms on different levels. One was down some stairs on the right-hand side, whilst another was upstairs to the rear. There is supposedly also a garden to the rear where the brewery can be found.
In the main bar, a TV was showing Olympic breakdancing. There were a few board games on some shelves. Nobody was eating, as our visit was mid-afternoon, but a specials board next to the bar suggested they did food. A quiz night was advertised and live music was promoted for every Saturday.
On the beer front, there were 3 ales from the brewery - Pale Ale, Summer Ale & Malted Barley Amber Ale. I opted for the latter and wasn't sure if it hadn't been pulled through properly or whether it was the end of the barrel, but I was on the verge of returning it.
I probably should have, as another customer ordered one and said it wasn't right. Indeed, he then ordered a different beer and that wasn't right too. He apparently hit lucky with a keg beer at the third attempt. The barman turned a couple of the clips round and poured at least one of the beers through. But I'd nearly finished mine, so decided not to query my beer quality.
Seemed a nice enough pub, but beer quality certainly seemed to be lacking on our visit.

A very smartly refurbished brewpub, which I was glad to find open, there having been electrical works stopping my originally planned visit. The Seven Stars is home to the Hidden Brewery, and has 3 cask ales on the bar. A standard set of taps is also provided, including the locally ubiquitous Rattler cider.
To be honest, my ales could have been cooler, but they were in good condition nonetheless.
The centre of Penryn doesn't have too much in the way of pubs, but this is a perfectly fine town local.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Seven Stars
Very traditional establishment in the centre of Penryn, now run as a community pub. The modest, split-level interior looks the business, but - given that the place was otherwise empty mid-afternoon - I didn't find a particular welcome (with the solitary member of staff more interested in the daytime TV). Three of five handpumps in use, offering Tintangel Castle Gold, Treen's Cuckoo (£3.60) and Blue Anchor Spingo Middle. Perhaps I just caught it on a bad day?
