This was the pub where the Edinburgh branch of Camra had its founding meeting, but it's now a cafe bar with precious little attention paid to cask beers. There are two hand pumps but just one beer on, a Stewart Edinburgh Gold 4.8% which just about achieved NBSS 2. They're planning a 50th anniversary get-together, so I hope the guys at Camra have arranged for something better. It's still got the look of a nice looking pub, but I would need a lot of persuading to return.

Nothing has changed since Rob's accurate review a couple of years ago. There was still 2 cask beers on the go one of which was Proper Job which was quite a decent pint.

Very neat little cafe bar. If you like hats then this is the place for you, they're all around the walls. A small front room with an even smaller room to the rear. A mix of people in, but leaning towards the "Ladies Who Lunch" bracket. There was no problem with us sitting at the bar and just having a drink though. Two handpumps on the bar serving Deuchars IPA and an ever changing guest. My pint was in good nick as well. The food looked good, but as we were eating at Kitchin later we decided to leave it. All in all a nice little place and we'll happily call in again next time we're in Leith.
