The Waterside Inn was previously a Brewer's Fayre outlet which was very popular and had several real ales. It changed ownership for a period before closing. It has been been bought over and reopened in October 2011 by SimpsInns (owners of the Gailes Hotel, Irvine, and the Old Loans Inn, nr Troon).
