The Royal Oak, Huntly

This consists of a separate bar and lounge, with the service area running betweeen the two and used by the same staff. The bar is on the smallish side and L-shaped with a dart board at the short leg of the L. It also has games machines and two TVs, one behind the bar, both of which were showing football. The door leading through to the much larger lounge bears the sign "No workwear in the lounge after 19.00 hrs." It is also plusher, without really being plush, and has TV screens, fairly loud music and a pool table at the rear. Despite this, the bar was much busier and verging on the rowdy, especially on the Friday night I called in. A pint of Belhaven Best cost me £3.20 there and Guinness and Tennent's, Carling and Stella Artois lagers can be found on draught, as well as Strongbow cider.
