this remains a vast and extremely dull St Austell pub, though with nice views of the beaches. Resembles a mixture of a kids creche and a sterile hotel bar inside. Despite members of staff doing nothing behind the bar, and the general emptiness of the place, I was told ‘orders on the app only’. Hard to see what this achieves other than massively slowing down the process of ordering a pint. Proper Job in decent condition rescues it from an even lower rating.

This is the perfect pub if you have children. There is an outdoor play area overlooking the harbour and beach and an indoor play area for up to 8 year olds inside. The food is very good value for money - large portions, and the childrens menu is not just chips with everything. I recommend the ploughmans, especially if you have a large appetite!

Large pub, sells real ale. The garden has great views over the old harbour. The garden also has seagull netting, but some must get through as there is a notice on the wall stating: 'SEAGULLS ARE WATCHING, DO NOT LEAVE FOOD UNATTENDED.'
