This is currently the only remaining Ulster JDW that is not in Antrim. It was a pub before apparently but not an original one as it was converted from two houses.
The frontage is fairly small for a JDW but inside it extends back a fair way. Even so it's not the largest Spoons, hardly surprising given the location. The fixtures and fittings are fairly typical and the bar area is at the rear right.
The bar has just 5 hand pumps which had the two GK beers, Exmoor Gold, Daleside Old Legover and Marston Bombardier. I noticed that the guest ales at £1.65 were cheaper than the Ruddles at £1.99 so went for an Exmoor Gold. This was pretty awful and I wondered how many days or weeks ago anyone else tried it. I should have sent it back but time was short. It's GBG 2018 listed.
