this once iconic headland pub has been comprehensively refurbished and ruined during lockdown. It’s now a thoroughly bland and sterile place with all the charm of a conference centre or dentist surgery. Bookings required, even for drinks. No cash or even card facilities, all orders are taken by app. A dystopian nightmare. Stunning location but you could make a better pub experience sitting on the bench with a few cans from the offy.

Lovely views. Thats about it really. We ordered 3 meals - Fat Sausages, Lasagna and Cottage Pie. The Lasagna was delicious but if it wasnt for the large portion of chips and side salad would have been very small (£10.50). The Fat sausages were cheap supermarket own brand sausages (£8.50). The cottage pie was an insult. My 10 year old ate the lot - that's how big it was! I piddly little portion of cottage pie mainly mash potato, hardly any mince with a small portion of pes (10.50). We mentioned to the staff about the cottage pie but they didnt give a damn. If you want to sit and have a drink with a beautiful view then come here but dont bother to eat.

Well if you're the proprietor of this place then of course you're going to rate it a 10/10.
Unfortunately the true case of it is reflected in my rating. The true story is also outlined on another well known review site where many previous customers of the Bowgie Inn have aired their opinions and grievances and have been attacked by the proprietor for doing so.
If you do visit this establishment I sincerely hope you have no problems with your meal or the service received. If you are unfortunate enough to have to complain you will not walk away a happy bunny after the manager has dealt with you. Consider yourself warned.
