Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fire Engine Inn
St Austell pub located far enough up a steep hill on the east side of town to be well off the tourist radar. That said, the benefit is a much more local atmosphere, and some splendid views of St Michael's Mount that the majority will miss out on. The main (street-level) bar was closed for refurbishment when I called in, but the more basic Well Bar down one level at the back was fully operational, with Tribute and Proper Job being dispensed from the pair of handpumps. However, on a fine Spring day, the terraced lower beer garden overlooking Mounts Bay was the place to be.

Small friendly pub with a limited , but pleasant menu, good beers and wonderful views from the beer garden.
