Our final pub of the day in Glamorgan was this friendly local in the Rhyd-Y-Fro area of Pontardawe.

There are two or three rooms. To the left was a small snug area. To the right, was a larger lounge which stretches around the back of the bar to meet the snug to its rear.

At the bar, Glamorgan Welsh Pale Ale is the regular beer. The guest beer was Wye Valley Butty Bach. Ciders were Thatcher's Haze & Strongbow. It is cash only, which helps to keep the drinks prices down.

What we really enjoyed about this pub were the people. There were a couple of guys sat at either end of the bar. Both had an excellent knowledge of local pubs and were really interested to hear about what we were doing there. In between them was Pam who apparently hadn't had sex for 10 years! She was also a bit of a character and was enjoying plenty of banter with the guys at either end. An Indian lady walked in and started working her way through the cocktail range. I enjoyed chatting with her about a few locales near where I live in London and where she used to live. As we were leaving, another elderly couple arrived to join us. It was getting quite busy.

We also met a very welcoming young barmaid and the gaffer who seemed to be selecting tracks from a jukebox. Pam seemed to be enjoying Sinitta's So Macho until the one guy told the landlord to get if off. Sinitta was replaced with Jermaine Stewart's We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off!

A very welcoming pub with some really friendly locals and staff. Well worth a visit.
