An irregular shaped pub GBG pub, with patio area. The place was certainly a pub by the mid-Victorian period and has grown organically since. It is in white render, with black paintwork. The interior has a couple of rooms. The lounge is in white artex and black fake beam - 80's style, with some brick, a white ceiling and a carpet flooring. It has a stone fire place, with burner fire. Mixed pictures are on the walls, along with the 80's style brasses and toby jugs. The bar is L-shaped and in the same décor. It has a pool table and a couple of TVs (not on). A sofa hides at one end. The service was really friendly and the place was busy with a good mixed crowd - both dining and just drinking. They do food and we ate here - the food was fine. Beer; usual tap stuff with Brain's Stout (decent enough). On handpull there was Abbot, London Pride, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Brains SA and Bitter - the last three being decent. I really enjoyed my stop off here - nice food, nice beer, a nice environment and nice staff.
