Brains house so their cask offering of Best Bitter and Rev James. Keg offering of Moretti, Carling, K1664, Angelo Poretti, Carlsberg, SB original, Guinness, Brains Dark Smooth and Brains IPA Smooth.
Typical public / lounge bar design. Small slightly raised patio at the front with shiny metal tables and chairs that I would not care to park myself on today given temperatures. The right-hand side is the public bar busy with nattering locals on my teatime visit. Bare boarded at the front and a stone floor at the back with regular tables and chairs and a fire grate on the right-hand wall opposite the bar counter. Three TV's all on without sound showing a variety of sports with no interest from the crowd here. The left-hand side accessed via the other entrance door at the front or via a walk through at the back had the traditional lounge bar feel. A corner fabric banquette in the front window and regular tables and chairs throughout with the bar connected to the other side so the barman could cover both sides. A fire grate on the left-hand wall with some attractive tiling surround. With another couple of TV's here also, a small snug area at the back provided the only viewing free spot in the pub. There was a skittles and pool room at the back of the venue to further add to the traditional feel of the place. Also, the venue had a rear been garden, but I didn't go and check out.
