Pick of the two pubs in Mullion. This is the heart of the community and packed on both our visits - a Sunday night and a Friday evening.
Multi roomed - with several for dining, a pool room, the public library (yes!) and importantly, a lovely front room for drinkers. This has a narrow bar and it can be a challenge to get to the bar to see the wares - which are St Austell, including the lesser spotted hicks. Proper Job was perfect and some of the best pints sampled this week. They must have upset the local camra groups, as I would have thought a shoe in.
Interesting, the locals all had a gold loyalty card. I enquired (jokingly) in how I might get one and was told "no chance without a TR postocde".
Not sure how I feel about a two tier pricing system. Especially when I am on the wrong end of it :-)
Fine pub and a pleasure to drink here.

Tacked on the side of the village one way system, pedestrians can enter from the front or access from the village and pub car parks takes you round a corridor past the toilets and kitchen. The bar is nicely traditional, with a restaurant area to the other side. Beers from St Austell in good condition.

A deceptively large St Austell pub and eatery that also does accommodation. The pub looks like it was formerlly a small stone built cottage, with thatched roof, that has had an extension at the back and a new build to the side, which is in Georgian style, having quoins and a hipped roof. The whole pub is in cream render. It has a nice patio area. The interior has a bar room and a multi-area restaurant. The restaurant areas are in white and red, with a beam ceiling and patterned carpet. Prints and pictures cover the walls and of course it is populated by general tables and chairs. There is a stone fireplace feature too. We ate here and the food was fine. The bar room is on a split level. It is in white with a wood floor and has a fireplace with a burner. Again, prints and pictures are on the walls, as well as a TV that wasn't on. There is a dart board. The service was great and there were lots of people in eating (families too), although the bar was quieter. Beer; usual tap stuff with Tribute, HSD and Trelawny on handpull. The last two were decent. All-in-all, a nice enough stop - i just with they had had the beer choice of the Mount Bay!
