Cask offering of Hobgoblin Gold, Rev James, Brains SA and Brains Best Bitter. Keg range comprised Barry Island IPA, SB original and dark fruits, Thatchers Haze and Thatchers Gold, Brains Smooth IPA, Peroni, Carling, Cruz, Guinness and Carlsberg.
Sole pub in the village of Tongwynlais, just off the A470 west of Cardiff. Sort of mirrored L shaped pub with a few nooks and crannies in the extremities of the venue. To the left of the entrance against the rear wall is the bar counter with a well-worn bare board skirt in front thereof. Opposite the bar counter is a series of regular tables and chairs on a carpeted area with a TV showing daytime TV on the left most wall. Up a single step is one of the nooks and crannies, an area with a couple of tables and a dartboard. In front of the entrance is the original stone flooring leading to another carpeted area straight ahead with regular tables and chairs and then a similar area with a similar seating configuration over to the right side of that, both areas being occupied mostly by diners on my late lunchtime visit. There was a small outside seating area at the back of the pub. Perfectly pleasant pub.
