Visited 27/11/25. Visited previously 14/02/24.
Cask was a solitary pump dispensing Doom Bar with two pumps unclipped. Keg comprised Asahi, Coors, Madri, Guinness, Inch's, Peroni, Mahou, Carling, Neck Oil, Punk IPA, Alpacalypse, Camden Hells, Cali Pale from Tiny Rebel.
The beer garden and entry point is at the rear as I would think of it rather than the front which faces the Millenium Centre, although it does look like what you would think of as the front of most pubs! There were plenty in the beer garden braving the elements, not surprising given I found the inside to be packed on my visit, and it was standing room only. Saying that the beer garden does have plenty of covered seating options and indeed has plenty of outside large screens showing the footy. Inside it isn't a large pub as the outside would make you assume, bare boarded with the bar counter down the right-hand wall. Seating around the venue, with quite a few screens and balustrades compartmentalising the interior to make the venue seem even smaller than it is, via booth tables, regular tables and quite a few tall tables served by a variety of seating options. Quite a bit of bare brick, bare boards throughout and screens showing the evening footy action absent commentary. Here the music was turned up but still quite drowned out by the chatter in the venue. A few large fruit machines were getting some communal action, a wall notice above each one stating that the "gamblers go off at 11.30pm". As I was stood by one, inspection revealed they only offered games of chance, what happened to the good old fashioned pub quiz machine?

I initially believed that the Eli Jenkins is set back from the road behind a large picnic strewn paved beer garden. I later realised that I had entered through the rear garden. The interior comprises a bar on the left-hand wall that faces some high tables and stools. Standard seating and tables are found around the exterior walls and there is a small raised seating area with fireplace to the right of the front entrance. Plasma screens are located throughout for showing all sports on Sky and BT. During a recent Tuesday afternoon visit there was some background music playing, but on a subsequent Wednesday evening visit football was being shown.
Available from the polite bar staff was a range of standard and premium keg alongside cask Sharp’s Doom Bar, St Austell Tribute and Brains Rev. James. There is also a bottled craft beer selection. The food menu is straight out the back of a Brakes lorry, much like any chain pub. On the plus side it is cheap, as an example a bacon cheese burger and chips is £8.25 with an extra burger option for £1.50. I found the food to be good for the price. I would use this pub if I lived locally.

Pub conversion of old listed building overlooking the Roald Dahl Plass and with large outdoor area facing Bute Street. Reasonably pubby feel, although interior a bit cluttered. Slight emphasis on family eating, at least during the day time, but fair range of beers including Brains Rev James and Greene King IPA. Cask Marque listed.
