No cask. Two hand pumps but neither used. Keg offering of Stella, Coors, Madri, Peroni, Carling, Inch's, SB original and Guinness.
Roadside Beefeater venue on the eastern extremity of the Cardiff postcode district. Given location (you are very unlikely to walk here) it has a large car park at the side between it and the Premier Inn twin. Inside, this place is atmospheric and must be centuries old (not as a BE though)! Proper stone wall and a flagstone floor to the right-hand side that has been carpeted over on the left-hand side. The bar counter faces you as you enter at the roadside front of the venue. There is a fireplace on the right-hand end inscribed above "Tan Dda-Aelwyd Lan" with a couple of tables in front thereof including the most highly polished copper surface you will ever see in a pub. Another couple of small tables entrance side, either side of the door with some larger tall tables over on the left-hand side by the also un-used fire grate on that side. The tall fruit machines seem so out of place here. Following that side round there is a rear room also carpeted, and I spotted a Chesterfield sofa in the transition from front room to rear room. Oh, the Beefeater restaurant is up a flight of stairs on the right-hand side of the ground floor (there may be other entrances from the outside side of the venue also). The downstairs, beer choices aside, remote location aside, overloud music aside, is a cracking space for old world feel. Two Beefeaters in two days in Cardiff and not a beef eaten in a Beefeater!
