I have a rule that if a bar is unmanned and remains unmanned for more than a few minutes, I move on. There were two of us waiting to be served and the barman left his posse of friends to come and serve only when pointed out that he had customers.

A single Tribute was not enough to make me change the habit of a life time, so I moved on.

Very impressive and smart exterior building mind.

Called in here for a quick one while waiting for a bus, and enjoyed the Wells Courage Directors. It is a hotel and the bar area is comfortably furnished and it is a clean and tidy room.Not far from Foundry Square in Hayle so can be reached by a few buses that pass through such as 14 and 18.
The above was in July 2011, and I called in yesterday and was accepted despite looking a bit scruffy from my walk from Connor Downs via Gwithian and the beach to Hayle. There was only one real ale on and that was the Wells beer Take Courage 4% which is all over these days, and is probably the old Courage Best Bitter. Took it outside at the back where there were 2 small tables in a massive courtyard which had motel style accommodation that could well have belonged to the hotel. The beer was fine and welcome.
