A large, end-terrace pub that was formerly the Eagle and Child. It looks like an old coaching house, with its horse access. It is now in a dirty cream render - the flat frontage only being broken by several bay windows. The interior had one large open room that I saw. It is in white and purple, with a flag floor. sofas are dotted around, along with standard tables and chairs and there are some music pictures on the walls. They do food in the day but it really appears to be a night venue. A TV was showing some talent programme and there was no music - just clocks on the wall showing different times. The service was fine and a few were in. Beer; no real ale, just keg stuff - had Thwaite's Smooth, which is what it is. Nothing really for me at this one.
